OUR DEVOPS TEAM
We exist to help everyone pet parent like a pro. We bring the best philosophies, tools and practices to our technical associates across our many business groups to help everyone execute on our vision.
HOW YOU’LL HELP EVERYONE PET PARENT LIKE A PRO
- Contribute to architecture, design, and implementation of new and existing systems to enhance their performance, reliability, and scalability
- Monitor, manage, and setup alerting for our systems using third-party services such as New Relic, PagerDuty, Sentry and a host of other open source tools
- Work with engineers to automate deployments and their configuration across multiple platforms
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks and vulnerabilities in our infrastructure and code
- Collaborate with other DevOps and Software Engineers in our 24/7 on-call rotation for Whistle’s critical systems
- Participate in incident response and post-mortems, helping to perform root cause analysis and implementing resulting action items
- Support development teams in their infrastructure needs and guide them in DevOps best practices
- Work with the team on capacity planning and optimizations to Kinship’s infrastructure footprint
- Continue to expand Kinship’s cloud infrastructure

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- 3+ years professional DevOps or SRE experience
- Autonomous, passionate individuals with experience across the stack
- Experience working in high-scale environments
- Knowledge of and experience working with common AWS services
- Strong skills in "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC), including experience with Terraform or Pulumi
- Background in sound agile software development principles
- Experience running docker workloads in production and at scale using Kubernetes and/or ECS
- Experience working with CI/CD tools including Github Actions, CircleCI, Bamboo
- Treat best practices for security as a requirement, not an afterthought
- Nice to have: Proficiency in languages such as TypeScript, Python or Ruby.
