The Engineer, Center of Excellence is one of a few top-level technical leaders enabling Global
Customer Services (GCS). This role will work together with Support, Technical Account
Managers, Engineering, QA, Operations, and Product Managers to increase technical
proficiency across customer-facing teams, identify opportunities for greater efficiency, and
drive technical leadership on the most visible, critical escalations.
As a member of the Zscaler Global Customer Services team, the Engineer, Center of Excellence
is responsible for the following key areas of activity:• Own the technical leadership of enabling the customer teams across GCS• Drive greater technical depth in product training by collaborating with development
engineering and creating hands-on-lab opportunities• Develop training material to address trends in customer issues and engineer skill gaps.
Deliver training and/or train SMEs to deliver training.• Set strategy and direction for reflecting customer voice and product use cases back into
the product teams and identifying product supportability gaps• Define requirements for new tools and enhancements for existing tools for enabling
quicker resolution of issues• Represent GCS's interests in the NPI process and beta efforts where necessary• Oversight of product-level issues impacting customers and leverage the experience to
bring a positive impact to all customers• Own technical resolution of executive-level customer escalations impacting Zscaler's
business and brand
8+ years of support and networking experience required• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent advanced
industry experience/certifications• Effective at collaborating and building consensus across teams and organizations• Able to advise leadership at the Director level and above on technical strategy and voice
of the customer
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills across the range of audiences from
executive to technical engineer• Experience solving complex issues in an interdependent ecosystem of technologies• Expertise in networking, cloud security, performance management, and the ability to
quickly pick up new technologies• Proven track record of developing new processes, tools, or product features to improve
troubleshooting efficiency• Self-starter that identifies opportunities and creates effective change without waiting to
be told what to do• Ability to travel on an as-needed basis• Industry certification at the professional and expert level desired
