Job Summary

The Project Management Associate Engineer provides engineering support to Project Management, Operations, Resource Development, Geological, Marketing, Land, IT through planning and creation of technical regulatory documents with the primary goal of ensuring uninterrupted operational readiness in support of corporate goals and objectives. Individual will need to work well both individually and as well in multi-disciplined teams.

Performs routine and structured work assignments. Contributes to projects within a team, function, or work group. Knowledge of fundamental theories, principles and practices in the area of specialization. Exercises limited discretion within established procedures to solve problems of limited scope and complexity. Works under direct supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with all other departments to stay abreast of issues that must be addressed, resolved, or mitigated to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Reviews and works with operations to create technical plans related to drilling and completion activities including directional plans, cement proposals, proper sizing of BOP, casing design, wellbore diagrams, and surface use plans for well pads, pipelines and gathering systems.
  • Develop an understanding of regulatory rules, regulations, environmental, archeological, and biological policies in areas in which we operate. Communicates these findings to the greater team to properly define plans.
  • Work with Operations Land, Federal Regulatory Specialist, and Environmental to procure and review archeological and biological reports as necessary. Evaluate impacts of findings and work with teams to modify operational plans accordingly.
  • Engage with Asset team in meetings and prepare recommendations or updates with guidance from supervisor; advise the group on regulatory and surface hurdles, timing constraints, required development needs, and upcoming regulations that could impact CLR operations.
  • Troubleshoot existing processes and procedures; propose optimizations/improvements.
  • Work with both office and field personnel with knowledge sharing to ensure Continental remains in compliance
  • Assist with special projects as they arise.

  • Proficiency in MS Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Spotfire/Power BI, and Adobe
  • Develop working experience in WellView, SiteView, ESRI ARCGIS, Procount, ARIES, Enverus, or IHS
  • Programming experience in at least of the following: R script, Microsoft SQL, or Python
  • Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one-year related field operations experience preferred but not required
  • Experience in FME, UiPath (or other automation software), and/or Jupyter Notebooks



Physical Requirements

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
