Job Summary
Come join the engineering team behind Comcast's award winning digital concierge, the Xfinity Assistant (XA)!! XA is a digital assistant that interacts with hundreds of thousands of customers daily, helping them answer questions, guide them through troubleshooting, or connecting them with our skilled Comcast Customer Service Agents as required.

The XA is a part of every major customer facing digital property across a spectrum of technologies: iOS apps, Android apps, set top boxes, IVR, SMS, and web. In addition to interacting with customers when they come to us for help, the Xfinity Assistant also leverages AI/ML to proactively scan customer data and reach out to customers via SMS to engage them when needed.

We are looking for dynamic technologists who are seeking the challenge of working in a dynamic multi-disciple DevOps team, solving real problems, and making a real difference for Comcast's millions of customers every day.
Job Description

Core Responsibilities
  • Analyzes and determines integration needs.
  • Evaluates and plans software designs, test results and technical manuals.
  • Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
  • Programs new software, web applications and supports new applications under development and the customization of current applications.
  • Edits and reviews technical requirements documentation.
  • Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
  • Displays knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
  • Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Necessary Qualifications:
  • Experience writing, calling, and orchestrating micro-services
  • Experience with web technologies including but not limited to ReactJS, HTML5, CSS, OAuth2,
  • Experience with debugging tools such as Postman, Developer Toolkit
  • Experience with build pipelines (e.g. GoCD)
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Excellent presentation & communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mobile development skills such as Objective-C, Swift, and Kotlin
  • Experience with Java and Spring Framework
