The role will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop work statement, integrate technical requirements and provide technical oversight of two ongoing work streams core to Boeing enterprise sustainability objectives.Position Responsibilities

  • Lead development of scope of work and execution of technical studies and research and development aligned to Sustainability & Future Mobility objectives
  • Provide technical oversight and thought leadership to two work statements core to Boeing Enterprise Sustainability objectives: energy transition for core products and advance air mobility energy transition
  • Support development of Sustainability & Future Mobility technology roadmap through integration of key findings and technical models developed in the studies
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans
  • Prepared to work under consultative direction
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
  • Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all functional and program interfaces
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
  • Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. Employer not willing to sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Master's degree or higher in an Engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in leading projects and/or Engineering teams
  • 5+ years of experience in aircraft design and configuration
  • Experience working in a distributed environment and multiple teams
  • Experience working in an academic setting and with university research

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experienced in collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
  • Graduate-level work in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, energy
  • Experience working with products and services that meet the highest technical, quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Experienced in identifying and corrects conditions and behaviors that affect employee, public, and customer safety; upholding safety standards; demonstrating proactive safety culture leadership
  • Experienced in stating what is needed to persuade and convince others without causing defensiveness and to inspire others to take action
  • Experienced in building relationships to gain support and commitment from others, promote ideas with enthusiasm, conviction, and assertiveness
  • Experienced in understanding the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area

Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience).Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
