Chentronics is seeking Embedded System Engineers with passion and excitement for playing significant roles from idea generation to production in our industrial flame detection and ignition system product lines. We are looking for enthusiastic team members with an interest in embedded system design and implementation. The successful candidate will work well in a collaborative and supportive environment and will provide quality documented work. The selected candidate can work remotely from a home office within the United States but must be willing to traveling up to 25%. The candidate will travel regularly to Norwich, NY.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Design and implement embedded systems:
    • Selection and implementation of embedded target devices and support circuit componentry
    • Embedded bare metal algorithm development and implementation (e.g., embedded C)
    • Embedded signal processing algorithm development (e.g., embedded C for DSP)
    • Selection and interfacing of peripherals (sensors, ADC, network comms, etc.)
    • Implementation of standard protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, wireless, etc.)
    • Implementing product test equipment (custom embedded testers, LabWindows, etc.)
  • Work with a diverse group of engineers in all phases of product development and production support including concept, design, test, verify, document, and support
  • Participate in technical design reviews and provide regular project status updates
  • Design and validate in compliance with safety certification standards (UL, IEC, CE, etc.)
  • Prepare typical electronics documentation (code flowcharts, instructions, code commenting, etc.)
  • Support other group personnel by reviewing work and providing technical expertise and guidance
  • Occasional travel for training and customer site visits for field testing and troubleshooting products
  • Travel to Chentronics' headquarters office when necessary for meetings and access to project hardware/electronics laboratory


The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • 3+ years' post academic industry hands-on embedded system experience including full design release
  • Experience testing and debugging new and legacy designs
  • Competency with typical laboratory test instrumentation: oscilloscopes, power supplies, meters, etc.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with high reliability and critical operation embedded systems
  • Schematic capture and board layout experience
  • Mixed signal circuit design experience
  • Experience with TI microcontrollers/DSPs and CCS
  • Experience with HDL
  • Ability to work independently and to effectively collaborate with a diverse multi-disciplinary team
  • Ambitious, self-starting, and motivated attitude; willingness to learn, ability to manage time
  • Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, excellent written and verbal communication skills

For this role, we anticipate paying $90,000 - $130,000 per year.
