Job Description:
JOB PURPOSE: To direct and participate in the design and development of complex, major software engineering product or process projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.
JOB DUTIES:
The Embedded Software Engineering Specialist is Responsible for developing solutions for complex technical software engineering problems and may be accountable for the design or improvement of complex systems or processes; Act as a team and/or project leader with major focus is on technical delivery; Demonstrate ability to develop and perform on a complex project or program; Directs work with other units, suppliers, clients, or teams requires the incumbent demonstrate skill in negotiation, building consensus, and achieving compromise.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications:
- Masters Degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, or related area.
- 2 years of progressive experience with embedded electronics controls, display, or telematics and software development experience, which must include development of device drivers, hardware diagnostics, operating system configurations, non-volatile memory interfacing, board initialization, & communication networks such as J1939/CAN/Ethernet; Control software design patterns and anti-patterns, C and other programming languages, version management tools, and software development processes such as Agile.
Alternatively, will accept a Bachelors Degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, or related and 5 years of progressive experience with embedded electronics controls, display, or telematics and software development experience, which must include development of device drivers, hardware diagnostics, operating system configurations, non-volatile memory interfacing, board initialization, & communication networks such as J1939/CAN/Ethernet; Control software design patterns and anti-patterns, C and other programming languages, version management tools, and software development processes such as Agile.
