Description
As an Electronics Software Development Engineer with the Energy & Transportation Technology team, you will engage in the design, development, and deployment of Control Systems for Genset Control platforms. You will contribute to strategy and architecture design, implement software strategies, and work with the program lead and development team to integrate strategies into a working system that meets program needs. Key focus of development for this position is the next generation of controls for Genset and paralleling Caterpillar products. Job responsibilities include:
- Design, development, and optimization of sub-system software strategies and Simulink models.
- Develop and validate real-time software, implementing sub-system software strategies.
- Work with development team and program leads to integrate sub-system(s) into platform.
- Test and verify sub-system components and software strategies in bench and lab environments.
- Ensure sub-system is a workable solution on multiple test bench & Genset samples.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum
At least 6 years work experience with model-based (Simulink, Stateflow) and/or C,C++ programming in an embedded control environment
Top Candidates will also have
Experience with software project architecture design when utilizing model-based programming
Experience using version control tools, such as Git
Experience using calibration tools, such as Vector Canape
Strong analytical skills
Emphasis on initiative and strong technical insight

The location for this position is Mossville, IL
Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
This position may require 10% travel
