Job Description:

The Role

The purpose of the role is to define and deliver on the architecture in Advanced Process Solutions (APS). You will work closely with Tribes/Squads across APS to architect solutions that meet business priorities and initiatives. You will collaborate with engineering leaders and product architects to develop and implement cost optimization initiatives. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment on multiple opportunities and interacting with both technology and business partners. The ability to own responsibility for all aspects of application will be essential to your success.

The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring

  • BS or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems Engineering or Mathematics.
  • 10+ years of technology experience in defining and delivering on application or software architectures, architecture strategies, and solutions for distributed applications
  • 4+ years of hands-on cloud experience in Cloud (AWS and Azure)
  • Domain expert in serverless architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Proven track record to analyze business direction and problems, understand long term vision and risk in developing strategic technical solutions.
  • Work closely with Product/Application teams in technology evaluation, selection, recommendation, and configuration.
  • Solid understanding in all aspects of technical architecture (operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization)
  • Demonstrated success in evaluating and implementing third party software products including open source and cloud-based products from vendors such as AWS, Microsoft or Google.
  • Certification(s) in Cloud-based (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) Architecture preferred.
  • Experience in API patterns, scaling and resiliency architecture is critical.
  • Authoritative understanding of the agile development process and DevOps practices.
  • Experience of agile development cycle using Scrum, including backlog development, iteration planning, and iteration tracking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-team teamwork and partnerships across a variety of internal and external technology teams.
  • Hands-on experience in using public cloud service providers to deliver enterprise-scale solutions that are resilient, secure, and dynamic - "growth platforms and patterns"
  • Experience with build containers-based systems: Architecture, implementation and managing orchestration platform such as: Kubernetes, Docker, ECS.
  • Develop tagging framework(s) in collaboration with enterprise and scripts if vital, for cost analysis and reporting dashboards
  • You have implemented strategies in cloud technologies and practices, building applications using services such as AWS S3, EC2, Lambda, EMR, Cloud Formation. Experience with containers and well-grounded in the knowledge of engineering and continuous delivery practices.
  • You have the ability to work with abstract problem statements, play it back to gain consensus and draft architecture that covers business ask, technology and infrastructure.
  • You will identify, assess, and explain the technologies and trends that will matter most to Fidelity three to five years from now.
  • It is encouraged that the proposed Future State Architecture has been validated by a number of high-value proofs-of-concept (POCs). You have hands on experience in crafting POCs
  • You bring your passion for new technology and hunger to gain expertise quickly.
  • Your ability to synthesize multiple information sources.
  • You have shown expertise in your ability to drive target architecture for various solutions in the firm
  • Ability to work independently and lead multiple assignments at once.
  • Show experience in thought leadership in the architecture space and become a trusted partner within APS and the enterprise architecture community.
  • Drive architecture discussions, synthesize blueprints and get consensus from peers and partners
  • Ensure technology decisions follow architecture standards and strategies.
  • Co-ordinate with the development team in co-creating the story backlog that will drive the implementation
  • Lead the non-functional requirements like tagging standards, Reserved Instances, Instance type upgrades
