Director of Software Engineering at Capital One
We are seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead a B2B SaaS product development in Capital One Software space. Capital One has taken a bold journey to build a technology company, while operating in a complex, highly regulated business. Through this journey, we've developed a suite of internal solutions uniquely designed to meet the challenges of a digital-first, cloud-first business at scale. The Capital One Software team is exploring how these internal solutions across cloud, data, governance, and applications could serve the needs of other companies born or built in the cloud.
The Director will work in partnership with Customer, Product Management, Portfolio management and our Business and Technology Leadership to move the internally built technology ecosystem to a SaaS product suite that focuses on creating great customer experience while addressing complexity in the backend.
The Director will manage, mentor, and build an incredibly talented team of engineers who will be responsible for developing the next generation cloud data infrastructure and governance SaaS application which will deliver game changing customer experiences and help to shape our overall business strategy. Simultaneously, the teams will need to ensure being well managed with a high degree of focus towards operational and delivery excellence.
Success in the role requires an innovative mind, a proven track record of delivering next generation software products, rigorous analytical skills, and a passion for creating market-leading software.

Lead, manage, and grow multiple teams of product focused software & data engineers

Partner with architects, product owners, data professionals, and software & data engineers to drive the implementation of new applications
Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across full-stack development tools and technologies
Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments and provide operational support for those applications
Conduct design and code reviews to ensure compliance with standards
At least 7 years of Software Engineering experience
At least 5 years of people management experience
10+ years of Software Engineering experience
8+ years of people management experience
3+ years of cloud native development experience
3+ years of experience with compliance and regulatory requirements
