Director, Software Engineering

Be part of a cross-functional Fidelity Center for Applied Technology team working to conceptualize, create, test and deploy innovative solutions.

This position will be located full time in Durham, NC or Boston, MA.
The Role
The Technical Leader is a key role on the Incubator team. The Technical Leader is responsible for working closely with the business to understand the requirements and then architect, design and lead the development of pilots and new products. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast paced and highly ambiguous environment working with emerging technologies, high risks and uncertainty.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree Computer Science or other related field required
- 15+ years of software development
- Architected, designed and built enterprise scale systems
- Conversant in data science concepts; able to lead development of software that integrates with AI solutions.
- Extensive integration with 3rd party platforms using industry standard protocols
- Proven leadership and strong technical skills
- Proven track record architecting and building complex end-to-end systems
- Ability to lead development teams and resolve technical/design issues
- Experience working closely with business partners and providing the appropriate system solutions to the development team
- Strong Object-Oriented analysis and design skills
- Full stack Engineer with strong experience in front-end technologies like AngularJs, Bootstrap etc. & middle tier technologies like Java, NodeJs, Python.
- Experience with both SQL based and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of cloud computing environments, applications and tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
- Experience and knowledge of both waterfall and Agile/iterative software delivery methodologies
- Ability to clearly convey information to a broad array of technical and non-technical audience
- Exceptional sense of customer service
- Motivated, self-directed, results oriented
