Director, Search Capability Architect
Job Description:
The Role
In this data architect role within Fidelity's Workplace Investing Technology Group, you will be responsible for driving the overall data strategy for cloud-based search and analytics. As the Search data architect, you will provide leadership to the product teams through architecture designs, adoption of standards, collaboration with key partners and evaluations and recommendations of solutions. Your architectural direction will help us modernize our data architecture search strategy.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
- 10+ years of IT experience with a proven ability as data architect with prior experience as tech/solution designer in data and/or business intelligence and analytics
- 3+ years of AWS experience with a focus on search, analytics, data, and data pipelines is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of cloud search technologies (ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, Kendra) is desirable
- Understanding of machine learning model development and model operations architecture and related technologies such as AWS SageMaker, Textract, and Comprehend
- Proven experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, SQL Server
- Knowledgeable of Analytical, NoSQL and Graph data stores such as Snowflake, AWS DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, and Neo4j highly desirable
- Proficiency with programming and database querying tools (SQL, Python) and data consumption tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Oracle Analytics)
- Proven cloud knowledge and understanding of AWS services (IAM, S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, etc.) and/or Azure services (Active Directory, Storage Services, VMs, Functions, etc.)
- Excellent understanding of data modeling concepts
- Ability to evaluate, prototype and recommend emerging cloud/search data technologies and services
- Strong presentation, documentation, communication and influencing skills for working with less-technical business partners as well as technologists in IT leadership and implementation teams
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect; Azure Solutions Architect) is highly desirable
- Financial industry experience is a plus
