Director, Quality Engineering & Localization

We're looking for a Director of Engineering to join our Quality Engineering and Localization team! Our mission on this team is to offer a high quality, bug free customer experience to all our Snapchatters across the world.
You will lead an organization consisting of teams of Quality Engineers, Quality Assurance project managers, and Localization product specialists. You will shape the future on how we continue to iterate and evolve our products at a high speed while ensuring a quality product release after release. You will craft a deep technical vision to allow us to scale the organization to support tens of languages, thousands of devices, platforms and operating systems, operating under varying conditions ranging from device capabilities and device settings to network conditions. You will rely on data heavily to craft a strategy, and use automation and tooling to scale the organization. You will be developing our roadmap in close partnership with Product Management, Engineering (Hardware and Software), Design, Data Science and Customer Support. You use your excellent communication skills, your hands-on management style and your get-it-done attitude to lead a world class org in close sync with Product and Engineering.
What You'll Do
Develop a deep understanding of Snap’s product and platform engineering teams and their quality and testing needs
Heavily lean on data driven approach to enhance your understanding and keep it up to date on an ongoing basis
Use the understanding above to find any gaps in our existing Quality and Testing strategies
Build tools and processes required to allow our Quality approach to scale for the next decade
Minimum Qualifications
BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
12+ years of software engineering experience
6+ years of experience managing a team
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Quality Engineering work in mobile apps environment
Experience with large scale consumer facing platforms
Experience leading a large team at scale and managing multiple Quality and Software engineering teams with an eye to driving efficiency
Experience partnering with cross-functional executives and management across a globally distributed organization
Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
Deep knowledge of and experience working with a diverse group of engineers
Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
