General Summary:

This person will be responsible for leading the systems definition of multiple innovative IP (Intellectual Properties) inside Qualcomm PMICs.

Duties will include managing a team that will organize customer requirements, industry trends, competitive landscape and inputs from other Qualcomm teams and then create the feature and specifications of the next generation of Qualcomm Power management products.

The Director will also be responsible for partnering with other Qualcomm development teams in order to have a successful integration of the PMIC with the rest of hardware and software in smartphones, automotive, augmented reality, virtual reality, smart cameras, cellular basestations, laptops and compute devices, wearable devices and even space craft.

It is expected that this person will be heavily involved in continuous process improvements with the goal of increasing the team efficiency and the quality and timeliness of the PMIC products. This includes a constant critical review of all our chip and systems verification methodologies.

This person will also be part of the core PMIC organization and will constantly contribute to medium and long term roadmap discussions.

Other day to day duties will include: interact with the Applications team for critical customer support, recruiting, supervising collaboration with Universities, evaluate 3rd party vendors, etc

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of mobile phone or similar product experience in power systems, power grid analysis and design, hardware or PMIC transistor level design or design/development of design tools and test automation tools and 8+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• 8+ years of academic or professional experience using one or more of the following: IC design tools, PCB design tools, SPICE, MATLAB, Verilog/VHDL, C, Python.

Minimum Qualifications

The following are required to be considered for these roles:

  • Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 10 years of professional experience in power system design and/or phone design/integration/test.
  • Hands on lab experience
  • Leadership and Management experience.
  • Battery Charging system design and test



Preferred Qualifications

  • Battery fuel gauge design experience.
  • Ultra-low-power system architecture
  • Power grid modeling
  • Design of circuits for end-use in mobile telecommunications, desktop/laptop computing or other consumer electronic devices.
  • Simplis, Matlab, VerilogAMS, VerilogA or VerilogPLI
