This role will lead the pathfinding and architecture team for Micron's advanced, high performance memory products. Today Micron's GDDR and HBM products lead the industry in value and performance. This person will own creating our high performance roadmap strategy, driving the development of leadership architectures, and creating innovative solutions to optimize power and performance keeping Micron's products the preferred solutions for the world's most demanding applications.
Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for leading technology strategy for achieving the product market requirements of Micron's next generation HBM products.
  • Define leadership product architectures, aligning with the diverse segment requirements and Micron's IP and process strategies.
  • Lead a pathfinding with other architects within the business unit - coordinating and driving synergies between product architectures and timelines.
  • Coordinate product definition with definitional customers
  • Ability to effectively communicate value proposition, complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences and all levels of an organization including C-suite
  • Industry spokesperson for Micron's High Performance memory products and strategy
  • Provide leadership to understanding competitive landscape and provide direction on product feature differentiation.
  • Develop models for target workloads to lead architecture tradeoff decisions. This may include capturing, benchmarking, analyzing applications and their corresponding memory and storage access patterns and emulating architecture elements and improvements in power and performance.
  • Collaborate with and leverage best practices across other architecture teams in Micron.
  • Build relationships and gain alignment with definitional customer architects.
  • Research, develop, and publish articles of high impact solution designs with partners and customers


Desired Experience

  • Must have significant experience with systems which require high-performance memory - establishing or measuring system requirements and optimizing solutions
  • HBM memory expertise and experience creating or specifying HBM solutions.
  • Must have experience developing architectures for large sophisticated SOC's or memories and measuring their impact at the system-level
  • Must have strong exposure to computer architecture analysis and design tradeoffs.
  • Experience in memory and CPU/GPU architectures.
  • Deep knowledge of architecture tradeoff analysis and modeling tools and methodologies.
  • Exposure to software development practices.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and written skills.
  • Must be highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Must be a strong individual contributor as well as a team player.
  • Experience transforming new and emerging memory technologies and methodologies into market leading solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of Computer architecture, High Performance Memory Architectures, and related interface standards and technologies
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills


Education & Experience Required

  • Masters of Science or PhD in Computer or system architecture. Plus at least 15 years of related industry experience.
