Looking for a company that embraces new technology? Are you interested managing a team of 20+ engineers, likely growing to 40+ by the end of 2022? Corvus Insurance seeks a talented Director of Software Engineering to join our technology team. We are a dynamic team of entrepreneurial professionals with backgrounds in insurance and technology creating a commercial insurance company that combines the latest technology with traditional insurance. You will be instrumental in building and scaling teams of software engineers. You will report to our VP Engineering.
Responsibilities
You will manage 6-8 Engineering Managers
You will hold weekly one-on-ones with each direct report
You will hold quarterly one-on-ones with each skip-level report
You will build a safe and productive environment for your team
You will develop new training programs to make our engineers more skillful
You will be the hiring manager for Software Engineers
Qualifications
10+ years of experience developing and deploying advanced web based applications
7+ years of experience managing teams of software engineers
2+ years of experience managing Engineering Managers
You collaborate well with others and are dedicated to the company's success
