We are looking for a Director of Engineering who has a passion for innovation and extensive experience bringing software products to life. To truly thrive at FLEXE, you must be able to think on your feet, work quickly and thoughtfully, and challenge the status quo. 

A large part of this role will be centered around scaling both the engineering organization and technology platform to handle our unprecedented growth. Reporting directly to the VP of Product and Engineering, you will help us take over and transform an entire industry.

What you're passionate about (and good at):

• Architecting new and improving existing systems, with a fundamental understanding of the end-to-end scenarios
• Identifying problem areas, driving issues to closure, and ensuring solid root-cause understanding to prevent repeat scenarios
• Capable of technical deep-dives into architectures, designs and implementations, and troubleshooting issues
• Scaling engineering teams from 50 to 100s in a short period

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with executive leadership, sales, product teams to shape product direction, technical requirements, and roadmap
• Manage and mentor a growing team of remote-first engineers
• Drive high-quality, high-reliability, test-driven development methodologies through the organization

Requirements:

• 8+ years as an engineering lead
• Experience managing and mentoring engineers and engineering leaders of all skill levels
• Demonstrated ability in building and managing and optimizing product quality
• Experience defining, building, and operating cloud-based or SaaS offerings Experience in a tech startup is a plus
• Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of equivalent experience
