Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience managing managers and leading distributed technical teams.
  • Experience building and scaling a new organization.
  • Experience with software infrastructure development.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with privacy or regulatory enforcement in software systems.
  • Experience with large-scale production operations for mission critical services.
  • Experience as a leader, influencing, bringing alignment, and helping with decision-making between teams and organization, and leading teams through change, providing stability, and creating opportunity.
  • Experience managing customers and engaging in dynamic problem-solving.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across geographies with multiple teams and partners in a highly complex environment.
  • Excellent organizational development, communication, and prioritization skills.

About the job

As the Director for Engineering with Privacy and Policy Infrastructure Solution Integration, you will work to empower product development across all Google's products and drive adoption of approved infrastructure. You will partner with product development teams across Google to define technical strategies and roadmaps to meet current and future needs. You will help address highly complex systems design problems. You will build and lead high performing teams to deliver highly leveraged scaled solutions.

You will help to make it easier for Google products to use a subset of high quality systems and infrastructure that will make data governance simpler within individual products as well as for data that goes across products.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google's products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to shape and deliver policy enforcement solutions. Set vision, strategies, goals, priorities, plans, and oversee development.
  • Partner and drive great cross-organizational relationships to define and execute Google's privacy and policy infrastructure roadmap.
  • Ensure Google is using systems and infrastructure for data governance by evaluating current Google products and identifying where Google can consolidate solutions.
  • Cultivate, inspire, and reward a highly functional inclusive engineering team to ensure that goals are met.
  • Build trust across teams and within the team.
