Molecula is looking for a Director of Engineering to own and drive the buildout of our cloud platform. In this role, you will own the delivery of an unprecedented analytics capability built around a novel data format. You will hire and lead teams of engineers to deliver a stable and secure cloud service allowing our customers to see value quickly without needing to manage their own infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring that we have the right people and skills to be successful, and that our engineers have the right process and support to deliver high quality software on time. As a member of senior engineering leadership at Molecula, you will push to infuse us with a cloud-first mindset in everything we do.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Actively building, developing and growing talent through effective hiring, mentoring, coaching, succession planning, and retention strategies for key talent in a fast growth, highly competitive economic environment.
  • Being a strong advocate for an Agile approach to building software focusing on delivering valuable working software in a sustainable manner, whilst ensuring transparency, accountability and predictability.
  • Contributing to technical vision and strategy for the team; leading a multi-year technical roadmap, balancing short- and long-term technology investments.
  • Influencing key decisions on our cloud strategy, architecture, and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering.
  • Communicating cross-functionally across various teams, organizations, internal and external stakeholders, at all levels to drive engineering efforts.
  • Working with Product, Sales, and Customer Success to understand customer needs, influence priorities, and ensure a world class end to end solution is delivered on time with quality.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • 10+ years of experience of progressive software engineering experience with at least 4+ years as a software engineering manager, tech lead, or closely related role.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
    • Proven experience building engineering teams to deliver cloud products.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Go or a similar programming language.
    • Experience with various development practices and understanding of their relative merits.
    • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to engage others in a virtual environment.
    • Experience weaving information security (infosec) into the development and operations lifecycle.
