Department OverviewMotorola Solution’s is launching new products into our high growth Mobile Video and Evidence business unit. Solutions such as body cameras, in-car video, license plate recognition, and evidence management software are key solutions our team supports. We are seeking a dynamic director of engineering to build a best in class engineering department delivering innovative and secure hardware, software, and cloud solutions to our growing customer base. The role will be located in Allen, TX.
Job Description
The individual will be accountable for driving the following behaviors:
Adept at partnering closely with, and acting as a trusted advisor to, stakeholders across the firm in order to influence strategic priorities.
Possess strong analytical capabilities, be organized, methodical and able to work many tasks at the same time
Manage and develop geo-distributed teams, growing teams competencies and performance against company targets
Create a culture of strong technical ownership to improve the efficiency, scalability, stability, and security of our products and services.
Develop highly reliable hardware for vehicular and/or portable applications.
Own project strategy and execution.
Qualifications:
First-hand experience building, delivering, operating, and supporting complex software at scale with 99.9+% SLAs.
On-premise and cloud infrastructure experience, including hybrid environments and migrations across environments.
Experience leading teams responsible for deploying and supporting their own systems in critical, large scale production environments
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Masters degree or MBA
Technical background in optics, imaging hardware and algorithms, knowledge of camera manufacturing processes
Familiarity with data privacy and security standards and frameworks such as CJIS, GDPR, SOC 2, FedRAMP.
Understanding of Government Regulated Cloud processes and procedures
Basic understanding of unified communications, situational awareness, broadband technologies.

Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other IT/Engineering fields
10+ years managing and leading highly productive cross functional engineering teams
