About the team & opportunity

Quartet’s Core Platform team owns and operates a variety of backend services that support end-user applications and integrations with internal and external systems.  The Director of Core Platform Engineering will be responsible for the overall design, development and implementation of these platforms &  engineering support. This position will be managing a team of Core Platform engineers that currently support services written in Kotlin, Java and Python on PostgreSQL and run on AWS. 

Responsibilities

• Manage the Core Platform Engineering team supporting individual SCRUM teams, their tech leads and engineers across all application development
• Set and measure performance objectives and provides regular one-on-one feedback to all members of the team
• Provide leadership to develop and motivate a high performing team
• Coach and mentor team leads and team members, provides guidance in the resolution of critical issues that may impact established service levels or service expectations
• Manage the group through clear communication, expectations, timelines and performance metrics
• Manage delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, and enhancement tickets raised by the end users for assigned applications
• Develop relevant metrics, measures and publishes the performance of the services provided and enable continuous improvement activities in collaboration with peer groups
• Provide key operational metrics for all applications operations processes

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a lead role with managerial and technical responsibilities
• 10+ years experience in managing enterprise IT applications including design, implementation, delivery, troubleshooting, change management and production support
• Demonstrated resourcefulness in project management, prioritization, meeting deadlines, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and leading investment in people and systems.
• Successfully implemented multiple API integrations across various protocols via REST, SOAP supporting XML & JSON (HL7 & EDI standards preferred)
• Strong expertise in development of application roadmaps and strategies
• Strong communication skills, with ability to make complex subjects understandable for non-technical audience.
• Strong understanding of relevant Infrastructure dependencies, their impact to projects in flight and the ability to work closely with Infrastructure engineers in troubleshooting issues or leading design and architecture sessions.
• Experience in ITIL, SDLC, Agile, SAFe and other common frameworks
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Healthcare experience preferred
