Director, Cloud Strategy and Engineering (JR2978)
The Director of Cloud Strategy and Engineering is responsible for leading a team of architects, and engineers to develop and continuously improve the public and private cloud solutions for Micron.
The purpose of this role is to develop and drive the realization and operationalization of the Micron cloud strategy that enables higher levels of business support, innovation and new business models associated with the Cloud while also reducing operational costs, risk, and on-premises footprint. This role will Work with IT and business leaders to understand the business strategy, and translate the strategy into cloud roadmaps, define and implement our capability maturity plan, and deliver the intended business-led results for this technology landscape.
Responsibilities:

• Works with the business team members and IT functional on developing and refining the cloud strategy, governance, capabilities to ensure Micron has a clearly defined approach to achieve optimal efficiencies related to cloud initiatives
• Partners with other functions to drive use of cloud as a strategic enabler of goals and objectives to achieve operational efficiencies that would otherwise be unattainable
• Develops policies, standards, and guidelines to facilitate the selection, development, implementation and use of cloud platforms within Micron
• Defines and establishes capabilities required to achieve strategy and gain value through cloud adoption
• Facilitates process for researching and selecting cloud enabling technologies to proactively address business demands and enable collaboration with business functions`
• Ensures new cloud technologies and solutions are appropriately supported before, during, and after launch
• Leads the cloud engineering team to provide solutions based on cloud standards, guidelines, and usage patterns ensuring security, scalability, and supportability
• Manages relationships with strategic partners to facilitate the identification of new and innovative ways to deliver business outcomes with cloud technology

Requirements:

• 8-10 years of I.T. experience (including complex transformations)
• 5+ years of experience managing technical teams of architects and engineers
• Working knowledge and hands-on experience of hybrid cloud environments, public cloud (Azure, GCP, AWS) and private cloud (on-prem), including creating and scaling environments
• 3+ years of experience architecting and implementing applications for hybrid cloud as well as migrating existing applications to the cloud
• Intimate technical knowledge of at least 1 major Public Cloud Service Provider (Azure, GCP or AWS) and Private Cloud technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift, VMware, etc), a Solution Architecture certification is required
• Familiarity with infra and workload provisioning pipeline technology stacks (Azure DevOps, Terraform, Python, Ansible, Jenkins, CloudBolt, etc)
• Understanding of programming languages, database technologies and IDE's is a must (.Net Core, C#, C++, SQL, JAVA, Python, etc)
