This role within the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team's Cloud Competency Center will be focused towards Cloud modernization initiatives across the organization, by helping teams with strategy, frameworks, resourcing and training. The position will be responsible for defining, socializing, and aligning the Core Data technology architecture and roadmap with business and IT leaders. The candidate will lead and drive implementation of data management & consumption patterns leveraging emerging technologies. This role will also entail development of proof-of-concepts (POCs) to identify viable options for implementing any data engineering, analytics or reporting use case. This role will involve interfacing with teams across geographies to support multiple products and products suites from an architecture standpoint.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Cloud Competency for Enterprise Data and Analytics in leadership, managerial and technical capacity
  • Providing Thought Leadership
    • Drive Tech Strategy, Operational Models and Modernization Roadmaps
    • Enabling Intellectual property contributions i.e. Technical whitepapers, patents and microsites
    • Forum presentations and workshops
  • Skill Development & Resource Planning
    • Enabling Role-based learn paths for skill development across teams
    • Cloud talent pool management - onboarding and managing onshore/offshore cloud engineers, architect and admin
    • Build and environment of innovation within team and encourage lateral thinking
  • Leading the Enterprise Collaboration
    • Integration with Health Care Platform and Enterprise Information Security teams
    • Business partnership across business teams for modernization
    • Collaboration with vendor experts (Microsoft, Databricks, Snowflake and GCP)
  • Using expertise on enterprise cloud implementations to expedite Cloud Adoption
    • Recommend Tech Stack for specific use-case/guiding principles
    • Managing Value-based PoCs/POVs/MVPs
    • Cloud Migration plan and solutions
    • Assessment & Job skill match/TLCP path
  • Helping with Cloud Architecture & Assessments
    • Architecture design patterns, reviews & recommendations

  • Develops innovative approaches on performance optimization & automation
  • Build an environment and culture of innovation. Champion innovation and modernization
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationship with stakeholders
  • Provide governance to ensure engineering best practices are followed
  • Influence and use discretion on trade-offs with enterprise standards staying connected with engineering reality
  • Apply technical expertise and leadership to guide teams in design decision
  • Provide suggestions to leadership team on technology investment areas weighing Cost Vs Efficiency Vs Effectives
  • Present and evaluate design solutions objectively and facilitate conflict resolution

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with large Data Warehouse and Data Mart development and operations
  • 5+ years of experience in managing projects for diversified data management systems. Solid experience should be around DWH, Data Performance Management, Data Quality Management, Metadata Management Strategy etc.
  • 5+ years of experience with modern Cloud Data Architectures, Big Data Platforms, Microservices Architecture
  • 5+ years of experience with developing products using MapReduce/Spark, HBase, Kafka and Hive
  • 4+ years of experience in working on data, technology and operational strategy
  • 2+ years of experience in developing IT strategy, solutions, operational models and CBAs (Cost Benefit Analysis) for Modernization through cloud adoption
  • Experience with developing high performing scalable cloud architecture for Data products on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google
  • Hands-on experience on multiple cloud and Big Data technologies. Should be able to articulate capabilities, pros vs cons of different technologies and how they integrate in the end-to-end architectural framework
  • Experience developing CI/CD pipelines for data products
  • Solid experience on Azure Cloud stack such as Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks and ADLSG2
  • Exposure to any programing languages, preferably Python and Scala


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in managing large data warehouses / data lake projects using multiple Cloud and big-data technologies which supports low latency reporting
  • Experienced in high performance, hybrid cloud architecture i.e. Snowflake, Databricks, Azure/GCP.
  • Very good experience in any traditional ETL tools
  • Experience in any reporting tools i.e. Tableau, Power BI
  • Experience in Health care domain
  • Passionate advocate for agile software development methodologies
  • Leadership qualities including being proactive, thoughtful, thorough, decisive, and flexible, conducting themselves professionally and with integrity always
  • Solid interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to clearly articulate solution alternatives
  • Solid work prioritization, planning, and organizational skills
  • Good influencing / pre-sales skill

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $113,500 to $218,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100.
