Let's talk about the role

The Director of Application Engineering is responsible for developing market-leading web and mobile solutions in the Digital Health space. They bring a passion for crafting technology architectures and roadmaps that enable ambitious product visions, recruiting and motivating elite engineers driven by our mission, and leading and managing an organization that allows those engineers to do their finest work. Ensure that the production systems you oversee are robust and reliable when needed most.

  • Your teams' mission is to deliver web and mobile customer facing applications that delights existing and future patients, partners and providers with a technology experience that defines best-in-class
  • Direct and oversee application engineering activities in the development, release, and maintenance of web and mobile applications
  • Define technical vision for the delivery of web and mobile applications and operate that vision effectively
  • Guide design solutions that establish and maintain application, platform, and product capability boundaries via domain driven design, platform-centric and composable architecture principles and patterns
  • Serve as a trusted leader and partner in the development of enterprise data and analytics strategy, implement roadmaps to build a robust enterprise-scale cloud data platform and ecosystem
  • Engage with cross-functional leaders to identify pain points, understand business and technical requirements, and design data solutions using best-practice patterns and modern architecture
  • Own end-to-end deployment, automation, release management, and lifecycle support of cloud-based production systems to ensure the availability, performance, scalability, security, and supportability
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in delivery process, engineering practices, and innovation with a focus on being a best-in-class product delivery organization
  • Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to support ongoing employee development
  • Mentor managers in the full spectrum of strategy, planning, software development lifecycle, people management and cross-functional collaboration


Let's talk about you

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience professional data/software engineering management; a mix of early and mature stage companies is a plus
  • 8+ years of experience successfully leading distributed, cross-functional data management organizations through transformation and growth
  • Leadership experience in enterprise data platforms, including data warehouse, data lake, data pipelines, data lifecycle management, and cloud platforms
  • Proven experience in planning and executing portfolio of initiatives that build technology capabilities to serve organizational strategic goals
  • Leadership experience in developing and implementing product development lifecycle process capabilities, leveraging Agile principles and practices with Scrum as the framework for managing the process, and DevOps or SRE best-practices
