Department Description
Cross Product Change Services (CPCS) is a change delivery organisation within the CIB's Digital & Platform Services (D&PS) that provides integrated change, testing and implementation support to CIB stakeholders. CPCS capabilities include end-to-end test management and automation, business analysis, data analytics and program management, which are tailored to enable strategic initiatives in the Wholesale Payments, Markets and Securities Services businesses, as well as cross-business functions such as Network Management and Client Onboarding (Client Tax & WKO).
Role Description
CPCS is currently looking for an experienced Associate Automation Engineer having JAVA, APIs and microservices hands on development knowledge to join the organization and play an integral role in the build out of the test automation services required for accelerating digital products change. This role will work in partnership with core technology, project managers, and testing teams to define, design and build test automation.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all technology components of diverse, complex automation projects, including project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost.
  • Communicates with end-users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates.
  • Contributes to formulation of strategies for project leadership and other functional areas.
  • Applies in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how areas of IT project leadership collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals.
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations.
  • Impacts the IT project leadership area through responsibility for delivery of end results and shared responsibility for budget management; accountable for resource planning.
  • Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
  • Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.
  • Understand data structures; Have market data knowledge and understanding of various vendors e.g. Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC.
  • Analyse Data automation and validation across 5 LOBs, 10 LE's, and over 100 critical applications.
  • Analyse, consume, map, model, visualize, store, maintain, report and leverage data using technology (and smart tools).
  • Involved in the production of metrics, KPI and analysis to assist the team in making data-focused automation decisions.
  • Design and implement an effective, best of breed solution to automate, capture, collate, store and maintain real time test data for purpose of validation, measuring progress and performance in change delivery.
  • Define and implement data validation approach to ensure data solutions comply with internal and external regulations / standards and monitor data integrity, standard and consistency through iterative testing, especially where new features are being integrated.
  • Own datasets for automation testing and those provided / used by vendors to test.
  • Define runbooks for data migration from legacy sources to new solutions as required.


Functional and Technical Expertise

  • Architecting, developing, and maintaining an innovative test automation environment including automation test framework design and development.
  • Experience with hands on automation testing, developing and executing automated test scripts using Automated Testing Tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin, Groovy, Behavior Driven Development (BDD).
  • Knowledge of agile development (preferably SAFe), test driven development advanced concepts of scrum.
  • Good technical expertise in CSS Selectors and Xpath.
  • Experience in developing UI using AngularJS , ReactJS.
  • Experience of working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Experience in integrating with applications deployed to AWS Cloud.
  • Define and map data relating to organizational roles .
  • Identify ways to resolve data pain points and maintain data integrity and consistency across functions consuming the same data in pre-production and test environments; Support data problems in test environments.
  • Define data automation for various internal and external (client) platforms.
  • Knowledge of the Securities, Markets and Wholesale Payments businesses, client base, operations and systems.
  • Ability to self-manage issues/programs of varying complexity and drive business goals forward.
  • Proficient problem solving skills and ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar processes.
  • Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture.
  • Ability to work on multiple business demands, prioritize and deliver in a timely manner with high standards.
  • Able to write VB & Java scripting and Python / JAVA code.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, AngularJS and/or ReactJS UI is essential.
  • Exposure to test environment management, release management practices, lean test strategies.
  • Understanding of technical architecture is essential.
  • Domain expertise in global trades is preferable.
  • Working proficiency of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC.)

  • Skilled at problem solving, ability to scope and provide structure to complex issues, rapidly learn unfamiliar processes and provide insightful and timely remediation.
  • Excellent attention to detail so errors can be prevented and redundancies / opportunities highlighted.
  • Ability to keep sight of the overall context and remain centred on the strategic picture, identify areas of opportunity for process improvement and build out recommendation to proceed.
  • Ability to use effective systemic data focused reporting to support program reporting.
  • Advanced numeracy and Microsoft skills.


Communication

  • Engage and collaborate with peers and operational and technology partners from each sector and sub organization to analyze, design, model and validate data architecture across change projects providing change acceleration, consistency and quality of delivery as relates to data.
  • Engage data architects and data scientists across the organisation in meaningful dialogue.
  • Liaise with function leads, users, technology and key consumers to document data conclusions, framework and roadmap.
  • The role will require working with stakeholders across the CIB, looking to leverage best practice across the industry and other J.P. Morgan business units. Lateral contacts in business, technology, middle offices, product and client facing organizations firm wide should be developed and mined for best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to influence at senior and junior levels.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional global teams and interact with all staff levels.
  • Experience in interfacing with external clients, regulators, depositary and agents.


Working Style and Influence

  • Collaborate with Operational, Risk and Technology partners to define security and backup procedures for test automation.
  • Prepare documents explaining the data architecture, train team members on test automation, key framwork and practices to reduce Key Person Dependencies.
  • Able to work comfortably and assuredly to achieve target deadlines.
  • Self-assured to raise concerns with leadership team and support resolution.
  • Effective change management skills. Ability to support & adapt within a changing environment.
  • Self-starter, able to work autonomously, with strong time management skills.


Qualifications:

  • Post Graduate/ MBA / Bachelor degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of development experience in JAVA, API, microservices architecture.
  • UIPath/Winautomation certified RPA developer/architect.
