  • Work seamlessly with the development team on design challenges pertinent to Service (e.g. diags, optics degradation, reliability, matching, system tolerances) as well as on key elements of prototype testing.
  • Influence designers and designs to include features that will optimize KLA service business: cals and diags, COS, reliability, design tolerances, IP protection.
  • Make sure that learning on current generation tools is captured and applied to next generation designs.
  • Ability to perform tolerance analysis on a proposed design, and apply to performance and reliability issues across a population of tools.
  • Strong analytical capability. Must be able to efficiently take data from multiple tools and other sources, analyze and present conclusions and recommended actions.
  • Gather and analyze data from systems populations at customers sites to identify sources of systematic issues, including technical, process, and people-based issues.
  • Facility with various analytical software and design packages used by design engineers to understand design tolerances and to analyze data.
  • Act as a two way conduit of information between design teams, and tech support and service personnel.
  • Very adept at trouble-shooting methodology including 7-step, 8D, FMEA etc, including driving learning and standardization where appropriate.
  • Fully appreciate the need to protect our service Intellectual Property (IP), and find creative approaches for doing so.
  • Able to step into a difficult escalation, analyze data from a variety of sources, and, working with DE domain experts when necessary, provide a detailed action plan suitable for execution by CSE's and TSE's.
  • Leverage learning and knowledge across the Tech Support organization through training classes, scripts, and coaching.
  • Design tools for helping TSE's, PE's, CSE's become more efficient - e.g. scripts for data gathering and data analysis.
