DevOps Engineer

About the Role (Remote Option Available):
This Software Developer role develops internal systems for Identity Automation. Your duties will primarily revolve around building software by writing code, as well as modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new infrastructure, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces. You will also be involved in directing system testing and validation procedures, and also working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in an Agile software development environment; work with the project stakeholders to define requirements sufficiently for successful development of assigned features.
- Deliver high-quality, well-designed, unit- or auto-tested code.
- Provide technical background, software expertise, and workflow information as needed for documentation and to productize the developed functionality.
- Improve, maintain, and enhance existing software in accordance with assigned tasks.
- Report progress and status to project manager/team lead and other team members as requested by the project manager/team lead.
- Maintain good working relationships and effective communication with others.
- Provide support and troubleshooting when problems arise
- Design and develop software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences.
- All other tasks, responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong programming and technical skills
- Experience with object-oriented design and development in Java, Python, or similar language
- Experience with Linux operating systems, bash programming, and networking
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud service providers (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google GCP)
- Experience using docker or other containerization environments
- AWS or Kubernetes Certifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or related qualification (or planning on graduating this semester) OR 5 years of hands-on experience in software development
