DevOps Engineer
Description
For all external applicants, we are targeting a start date on or after January 10th 2022 for this position.
This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position does require an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week.
About the DevOps Engineer -
The DEV IT DevOps Engineer is part of a team responsible for new and innovative software development and design elegant and professional code, writing maintainable unit and integration tests (including in memory, mocked tests, and actual integrations). - Strengthen our application environment, applying standards and best practices and providing tooling to make development workflows more agile
- Work collaboratively with multiple agile teams to help deliver end-to-end products and features, seeing them through from conception to delivery
- Increase the sophistication of our alerting and dashboarding mechanisms, and tune them to meet the growing business needs
- Create, maintain, and iterate on our CI/CD processes for new and existing services
- Scale, and manage Linux virtual environments
- Help increase system performance with a focus on availability and scalability
- Support Change, release, incident management process for all environments
- Level 2 support for DEV IT owned Applications
- Maintain Security, Technology, Operational Readiness, Business Continuity and Data Storage requirements as Identified by GMIT Standards
- Provide Governance oversight and training to new and existing Dev IT employees
Prospective team members possess a high degree of business insight, creativity, decision making skills, a drive for results, the ability to negotiate, the ability to develop strong peer relationships, and a strong technical learning capability and focus.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional experience as a DevOps / System Engineer
- Strong experience with various managed and self-hosted CI/CD Azure DevOps
- Strong experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of monitoring tools (i.e. Dynatrace)
- Experience working within a group, service orientation
- Experience working in and advocating for agile environments
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field, or, equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 2 years developing 12 factor apps including designing and implementing Continuous Integration, Build, and Delivery
- Over 3 years utilizing platform and infrastructure as a service technologies and capabilities and their corresponding services (object store, configuration management, service registries, etc)
- Experience using Git source control doing rebases, merges, and handling merge conflicts
