Job Description

As a DevOps Engineer on the Cloud Services team, you will help us operate a cloud service and enhance our existing software, tools, and experiences to help delight our customers by enabling our software to run securely at scale on a worldwide basis. You will help influence software architecture, standards, and will build tools to help your colleagues create new APIs and web services while supporting the worldwide operations of our cloud-based video security solutions.

Motorola Solutions is seeking engineers who are passionate about treating infrastructure as code and who want to operate large scale data platforms. As we transmit video and other situational information in real-time from our clients’ devices to their command centers, we turn this data into actionable intelligence that helps to keep people safe. What You’ll Do

You will be part of an engineering organization that will entrust you to operate and maintain various portions of Cloud Services with lots of autonomy while receiving guidance and feedback to help you grow. You will actively monitor the operational state of ACS, engage in cybersecurity threat assessments of new and existing features, implement automation to deal with incidents that arise in our cloud production environments, and manage the alerting and incident response mechanisms for all applications within ACS.

Qualifications

• You have outstanding technical problem-solving, design, and coding skills
• You have 3+ years’ experience writing performant code in a high-level programming language (i.e. C#, Java, or similar)
• You have 3+ years’ experience testing, deploying, and operating web services on cloud-based infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure) on a large scale supporting at least 2,000 simultaneous users
• You have 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows system administration
• You have 2+ years of experience with Linux system administration
• You can communicate effectively & persuasively, both in person and in the written form
• You are adaptable, collaborative, and love eliminating ambiguity by figuring things out
• Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience

Bonus Points

If you have experience building and deploying applications using Azure DevOps. Do your colleagues come to you to help them write Kusto queries and answer their KQL questions . . . good since we want you! Are you knowledgeable about single sign-on in general and have used Azure AD B2C or ADFS – super useful and we will keep you busy!

Familiar with scanning your code using security tools like CheckPoint, or Fortify, or using static analysis tools like SonarQube – great, since you’ll fit right in! And double bonus points if you have experience operating cloud-based applications that handle video data.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years’ experience testing, deploying, and operating web services on cloud-based infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure)
