Abrigo is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team. We offer opportunities to work on a number of technologies and provide a wide variety of career development and mentorship. The perfect candidate is organized, self-motivated, has a passion for learning and is able to work within a team.
This position will be remote, or it can office based in Raleigh, NC or Austin, TX.
What You'll Do:
- Ensure the production environment is reliable and operating in accordance with established procedures and best practices
- Setup and automate development, testing, staging, and production systems for new services
- Plan and automate software deployments and service upgrades
- Play a key technical role in facilitating various technical and business initiatives
- Review and recommend potential product offerings and solutions
- Recommend new infrastructure deployments and changes
- Collaborate with multiple teams including Infrastructure and R&D on projects
- Plan upgrades, maintenances and outages for various systems
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects
- Administer systems and software to monitor and report service information
- Administer systems and software to help generate projections for future scaling needs
- Mentor and develop junior level staff
What You'll Need:
- Experience working with automation tools (i.e. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Experience working with CI/CD pipeline tools (i.e. Bamboo, Jenkins, TeamCity, Thoughtworks GO, etc)
- Knowledge of monitoring and APM/instrumentation tools (I.e., New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, Solarwinds, etc.)
- Experience with HA environment development and deployment
- Experience managing source control management software (Git, Subversion, Mercurial, etc)
- Knowledge of Docker or similar virtual container applications
- Advanced proficiency writing and debugging in multiple scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, Powershell, etc.)
- Experience working with log analytics solutions (i.e. ELK stack, Splunk, etc)
- Knowledge of administering servers, including diagnostic procedures, and best practices
- Experience working with relevant operating systems (Windows or Linux), DNS/DHCP, AD/LDAP
- Experience working in virtualized environments
- Understanding of networking and network diagnostic techniques
- Understands concepts of clustering and databases
- Progressive troubleshooting skills across a range of systems
General Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree (CS or related field) or equivalent experience
- Possess ability to deliver high-quality work quickly, both individually and in a team environment
- Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting skills, and a desire to take on responsibility and ownership of issues
- Motivated, takes initiative, and strives to create an environment where continuous improvement can occur
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible to work in an environment with multiple responsibilities
- Ability to produce excellent documentation
- Ideally possess professional industry recognized certifications in your areas of focus
