As a member of the Internal Platform Team, you will work closely with the engineering, product, security, and support teams to develop infrastructure, runtime, and pipeline automation that enables and empowers through self-service capabilities with our internal developer platforms.

The Internal Platform team requires a mix of systems and software engineering skillsets and disciplines. Our team has front row seats in empowering our product teams through SDLC lifecycles and championing DevSec and SaaSOps practices, continually examining the next improvement opportunity. We create a smooth deployment experience by shielding internal teams from the ever-growing complexities of the underlying infrastructure and providing standards, and guard rails while balancing internal team autonomy.

We are responsible for the enablement and ownership of the reliability, scalability, automation, evolvability, security, and any issues related to the act of building and operating software. The Development and Operations engineer contributes to the success of the Internal Platform Teams DevOps disciplines. We define DevOps as a practice referring to how services and products are delivered to customers through continual integration, deployment, and the operations (CI/CD/CO) of our internal development platform (IDP) that reduces cognitive load, improves collaboration, enables, and empowers self-service for our internal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage our Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) and paved path models for the smooth development, deployment, and release of the internal team's products and micro-services participate in on-call rotations supporting our IDP.
  • Administer and manger 3rd party tools, technologies, solutions, products, and services, that provide first-in-class developer experiences making local development and testing as fast and painless as possible.
  • Support abstractions and bespoke tooling, driving scalability, stability, reliability, operability of services, and utmost importance, security
  • Embed with and advocate for other technical operations, product, engineering, and support teams ensuring their operational success with their products and micro-services.
  • Help support the management of our always-available - infrastructure and runtime, deployment pipelines, and platform tooling to eliminate downtime and improve the manageability of services and systems.
  • Lower the barrier to entry of our IDPs by building the right tools and documentation that enable our engineers to onboard faster.
  • Provide support for our internal teams with product releases and provide best practices, guidance, and guard rails that enable and empower teams on our IDPs



Required Experience:

  • 2+ years of combined experience designing and developing Continuous Integration, Delivery, Operations pipelines, workflows, and IDPs or equivalent developer experience abstractions.
  • 4+ years of combined experience in a professional software development role building and developing cloud-based distributed microservice systems requiring 24x7 availability in at least one of the following languages: .Net Core, C#, Go, Java, Python, Rust, or Ruby.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Developer or equivalent experience and/or equivalent experience with Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Provider (GCP).



Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience deploying containerized workloads in a blue/green, canary, or rolling strategies in a cloud-native or Kubernetes (K8s) or equivalent container runtime orchestration framework.
  • 4+ years developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), event-driven backend core services, and containerized microservice-based solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery solutions such as Spinnaker, Harness, GoCD, Travis, Drone, or Jenkins.
  • 4+ years of experience building and developing any of the following categories:
    • Distributed systems leveraging web-scale technologies such as Linux, Envoy, Istio, Apache, Nginx, NoSQL, RDBMS, Redis, Postgres, Kafka, or Kafka Streams.
    • Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions such as Apache Airflow, Databricks, H20 AI, Hugging Face AI, or GCP's Vertex AI.
  • Experience with Internal Developer Platforms such as Backstage, DevOpsBox, Gimlet, Humanitec, Shipa, or Upbound.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Capability to meet multiple, challenging deadlines while communicating expectations clearly.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's success.
