Job Summary
In your role, you will help to bridge the gap between development and operations teams! This involves working with various teams to identify and trace defects to root cause, then implement capabilities to ensure the issue is resolved and supervised. You will also be working with some of the most creative minds in Comcast to develop, implement, and run scripts to automate the execution of capabilities, collect and report on data, advance to various operations teams for resolution, and even automate corrections to improve inventory accuracy for various business teams. Success in this role is characterized by low inventory variances, and improved transparency to inventory across the company for planning and product lifecycle management.
Job Description

The Supply Chain Systems Operations (SCSOPS) team is positioned between core infrastructure development teams and daily systems and business operations teams. We work with systems administrators, software engineers, and vendor teams to ensure the systems are performing at or above targeted goals. SCSOPS is a diverse collection of operational engineers and architects that reside both here and in other countries, and are passionate about setting the standard on how to implement and handle capabilities and process that is meant to improve operational excellence for supply chain.

About Comcast ES Supply Chain Systems Operations:

SCSOPS is a team within CXT Enterprise Solutions that is involved with the management efficiency. The team is located in Philadelphia and Chennai, India, and is responsible for improving efficiency for retail, customer premise equipment, and other supply chain areas within Comcast.

What you can expect:

  • Ability to address and repair all but the most sophisticated issues. Performs maintenance activities with a minimum of supervision and mentorship. Leads technical outage bridges and engages appropriate resources to drive issues to closure.
  • Acts as an advocate for Engineering Operations procedures, policies and processes. Ensures projects and initiatives are adhering to Company standards.
  • Tracks and reports operational workflows; maintains records of results and feedback. Analyzes data and metrics, identifies problem areas and provides practical insight.
  • Acts as a technical resource in projects and initiatives and ensures successful project implementation.
  • Chips in to design considerations for new products or architectural changes to existing products.
  • Analyses problems in design, configuration, data flow and data state within a highly sophisticated multi-product provisioning system.
  • Performs routine maintenance tests for designated areas of engineering and ensures all maintenance is accurately validated to minimize impact.
  • Provides training and mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Attains industry standard certifications and education.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as vital.



What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineer, logistics, or a related field
  • 2 - 3 years programming experience as a supply chain systems engineer in a similar industry
  • Experience with a variety of scripting languages including Python and Javascript
  • Experience writing core programming languages such as Java or C/ C++
  • Experience with CI/CD applications such as GitHub, Jenkins to handle application code
  • Understanding on how to scale applications depending on load
  • Knowledge of databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Azure MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra
  • Experience with web application development including sophisticated HTML, CSS, and JS integration
  • Sophisticated proficiency in industry-related supply chain management software
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain analytics and critical metric measurement
  • Extensive experience in supply chain analysis and optimization
  • Outstanding analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Willing to take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Superb collaboration and communication abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and time leadership skills
