How will this role have an impact?

The Sr. Software Engineer is a hands-on technical position responsible for architecting, designing and implementing automation to continuously improve the delivery of our software products, as well as evangelize CI/CD program principles, tools, processes and acts as a consultative partner with Engineering, Development and Business teams.  Must have a passion for improving processes, eliminating waste in workflows and enjoy the technical challenges in a fast paced, dynamic environment.  

The Sr. Software Engineer’s role is to:

• Provide direction, communication and coordination between the infrastructure support team and the applications development team(s) in their continuous deployment activities.
• Ensures that developers are never doing repetitive tasks and that the infrastructure is kept up to date as the stack evolves.
• As processes change and the company grows, the Sr. Platform Engineer automates as much as possible to accelerate work.

This role will report to our Engineering Team Lead for Platform Engineering.

What will you do?

• Maintain and improve CI/CD and automated testing pipelines
• Configure and maintain infrastructure configuration management platforms
• Help modernize our software development practices and processes
• Standardize, develop and maintain common development tools and infrastructure, such as CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, kubernetes cluster management, configuration management, etc..
• Work with engineering teams to identify and implement infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring and other related improvements
• Provide expert level support to the engineering teams in the CI/CD, monitoring and infrastructure space
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by following the broader industry, attending training sessions and education workshops
• Assist the team in achieving established goals and departmental objectives
• Contribute to roadmap development, execution, and releases
• Participate in an environment that emphasizes trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong experience in Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration using modern CI/CD tools
• Strong experience working with on-prem and cloud platforms which would include advanced skills with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Demonstrable experience using kubernetes (AWS and AKS experience is a big plus)
• Ability to fluently read and write code in multiple languages such as C#, Java, Python, Javascript, etc..
• Working knowledge of Git and industry standard branching strategies
• Experience implementing Test Automation into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience using Monitoring tools such as New Relic, SolarWinds, AppDynamics, etc..
• Strong knowledge of PCI/HIPAA and other security related standards and requirements
• Experience with SQL (NoSQL experience is a plus)
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• A passion for innovation
• Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field from an accredited four-year university required
