About the team

The AI and Automation team is driving a transformational journey across multiple groups at FIS. We have a clear focus on enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer satisfaction and reducing time to delivery through intelligent automation, self-service transformation, and accelerating digitization efforts. We use the right tool to solve high impact problems, building intelligent solutions through hybrid AI/ML and traditional RPA frameworks. We are seeking an experienced Engineer to lead and drive development, operations, and system-reliability optimization for AI and automation initiatives that deliver maximum impact today and prepare us for the future. 

What you will be doing

This is an important role where you will be responsible for key technology and operational decisions that contribute to the AI and Automation team’s success!

  • Improve reliability, security, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
  • Provide primary operational support for multiple large distributed software applications
  • Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous, automated build, testing and release processes and procedures
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
  • Develop partnerships with key stakeholders, ensure a high degree of transparency.
  • Out-of-the box thinking regarding technology solutions and in resolving technical issues for the team.

What you bring:

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and an out-of-the-box thinker, demonstrating high levels of initiative and integrity.
  • Always curious and has the intellectual agility to learn quickly, adapt to change and enjoy tackling challenges.
  • At least 10 to 15 years of industry experience with excellent background of development, operations, Site Reliability Engineering with key focus on areas that include scalability, performance and security.
  • Rock-solid fundamentals with hands-on experience with C++, .NET (C#) and/or Java and with exposure to Python.
  • Ability to work across multiple tools, frameworks, databases (Oracle/MS SQL/PostgreSQL/NoSQL) and technology stacks including
    • Linux and Windows Server OS
    • Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
    • Serverless technologies in AWS and Azure environments
    • Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and code quality/inspection tools
    • Terraform
    • Splunk and Cloud-based log-aggregation tools
    • Performance management and monitoring tools
  • Hands-on, Production experience in multi-cloud (AWS/Azure) and hybrid-cloud environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to break down complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, having the ability to communicate technical aspects effectively with a variety of audiences.
  • Very high energy levels, demonstrating the attitude and drive to take on more, do more and be more. Also bringing with them a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to execute effectively within a team and lead by example.

Added bonus if you have:

  • Understanding of web-based technologies including Angular, React with basic understanding of UX principles.
  • Exposure to low-code development platforms.
  • Experience with RPA platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere etc.
  • A background in Financial Systems and services would be a strong positive.
