As a TAB Bank Development Manager, you will lead several scrum teams that work on everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications using open-source frameworks, to highly available RESTful services and legacy software applications. You will drive the design, development, implementation and post-release support in SAFe agile application development environment. You will execute on engineering and release priorities successfully through strong leadership and communication. In this role, you will hire new development staff and conduct quarterly reviews and performance evaluations. You will act as the liaison between your teams and upper management. You should be familiar with different programming languages, including HTML, SQL, Java, and Javascript. You must also be familiar with both database and application development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead internal and external development teams including hiring quarterly and annual performance reviews
- Mentor development team members
- Develop and monitor OKRs and KPIs for each development team
- Manage and monitor external development vendors and resources
- Identify and enable adoption of new technologies and patterns particularly in Public Cloud, API and Web frameworks
- Experience implementing SDLC best practices
- Demonstrate strong technical ability, awareness and track record of proposing and integrating technologies and solutions
- Maintain the overall view of solutions, understanding both business need and technical challenges, both functional and non-functional
- Work with the developers, quality engineers, product owners and subject matter experts to design and develop end-to-end solution options
- Recommend innovative approaches to solving business and technical problems.
- Keep current on new technology, standards, protocols and tools in areas relevant to the rapidly changing digital environment
- Understand and apply sound development practices to support Dev Ops and automation best practices
- Prepare and present potential technical solutions, being able to advise the business on the technical and business value of the proposition
- Actively participate in internal and external Communities of Practice

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
- At least 3 years of managing development teams and people
- At least 7 years of current experience with Java development
- At least 3 years of experience in API development, MuleSoft experience preferred
- At least 2 years of experience using Web Development technologies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in object-oriented and functional programming in Java and JavaScript
- 2+ year of experience with microservices architecture
- 2+ year of experience with front end technology stack, such as React and TypeScript
- 1+ year of experience in AWS or similar cloud computing environments with infrastructure and configuration management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in gateway and integration technologies
- Build, orchestrate, and deploy complex integration patterns between system, process, and experience layers of API
- Experience in estimation, coordination with onshore and offshore teams
- Experience configuring, deploying and testing enterprise software applications in an Agile team environment
- Experience working in a SAFe agile environment
- Previous experience developing and delivering software according to DevOps practices and principles
- Ability to define MuleSoft development and design best practices, create playbooks, design/deploy/manage mock API services along with corresponding service test data
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to implement tactically while thinking strategically
