Developer Relations Software Engineer
The Developer Relations Software Engineer supports the Developer Relations team on their mission to provide SailPoint's developer community with the best developer experience in the Identity Governance industry. While Developer Relations is a public facing team within SailPoint, our Senior Staff Developer Relations Engineer will work mostly behind the scenes to develop tooling to directly improve the external developer experience with SailPoint products & services. Because this is a new engineering team, you will also define the overall processes, tooling, and architecture that current and future Developer Relations Engineers will follow.
As a Sr. Staff Developer Relations Engineer You Will:
- Identify the best solutions to the problems at hand. Provide direction and technical leadership to the DevRel Integrations Engineering team (including yourself) that will implement the chosen architecture.
- Quickly implements proof of concepts that can be expanded upon to drive value to an enterprise client.
- Lead the architecture of several initiatives at once. Know when to get more involved and when the team has projects under control and can be left to run with them.
- Drive the implementation of scalable, testable code bases.
- Work with Developer Advocates to create and maintain client libraries for our Product APIs
- Manage deployment of libraries to native package managers, like PyPi, NPM, Maven, Nuget, etc.
- Help Engineering develop and maintain IPaaS integrations to our Security Platform APIs, like Workato, MuleSoft, Zapier, etc.
- Manage the development and deployment of our API standards toolchain. Develop and deploy rules for our API linter to match our API standards and rules.
- Assist Developer Advocates with building sample applications and code snippets for various use cases that our developer community finds useful.
- Automate the building and publishing of our Postman collection from our OpenAPI specifications.
- Automate various workflows within the DevRel team as needs arise.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven software architecture experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced experience in coding with several languages
- Advanced experience with an object-oriented programming concepts
- Proven experience in driving velocity of engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of, and experience with, REST and the OpenAPI standards
- Experienced in both front-end and back-end technologies
- Able to comfortably modify and deploy a variety of open source technologies
- Experience deploying and managing AWS services
