Job Description

Summary:

The Design Transfer Engineer engages closely with peers (MFG, MFG Eng, Materials, Sourcing, and Logistics) to ensure seamless implementation of product and process changes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the phase-in and implementation of engineering changes.
  • Serve as point person on Product Change Review Board:
    • Understand project path.
    • Advise on dispositions.
    • Communicate plan with materials, production, and sourcing.
  • Review ECO's for accuracy, content, and set-up.
  • Manage implementation tasks:
    • Pull functional reps together to manage implementation tasks are complete and dependencies are communicated within team.
  • Track system configuration phase-ins.
  • Track last time buys from obsolescence.
  • Hold and lead regular meetings with stakeholders.
  • Follow up on new parts through production cut-in and field service shipment.
  • Reside on change teams driven by reliability, cost reduction or obsolescence.
  • Develop business processes and tools to drive implementation tasks.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Materials Management, or related field.
  • 3- 5 years in a Manufacturing Engineering or Supply Chain role including Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and knowledge of bill of materials, engineering change orders, and design transfer.
  • Experience with safety and health (OSHA), FDA, and ISO quality system requirements.
  • Understanding of quality assurance programs (ISO, FDA, and QRS), ERP Systems and their manufacturing related processes, and production floor process flows.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and teamwork skills are required.
  • Must be process minded and self-motivated with high energy level and a strong work ethic.
  • Hands on, able and willing to roll up sleeve to understand, monitor and improve implementation process
  • Results oriented, drive and tenacity to deliver results and improvement.
  • Strong influencing skills. Ability to convince people and teams and multiple levels of the organization to take actions. Polished communicator.
  • Solid organizational skills. Able to build, manage and execute a funnel of projects and deliver short- and long-term results.
  • Commitment to high standards of excellence and integrity.
