Data & Control Systems Engineer (Stennis)

Team:
Relativity seeks a highly talented Data and Control Systems Engineer to join a rapidly growing space startup. This position will provide assistance in the design of the Terran 1 avionics system and ground test infrastructure, as well as helping build a world-class test team.
What you’ll do:
- Provide assistance in the design, development, testing, integration, and operation of test infrastructure used to verify Terran 1 and Aeon-1 hardware performance.
- Properly implement test sensors on the test stand such as but not limited to: Pressure, Temperature, Load, Strain, Vibration, and Speed
- Properly implement test actuators such as valves and motors on the test stand interfacing Terran 1 vehicle hardware
- Properly implement video recording hardware to capture test data footage to support Terran and Aeon-1 hardware development
- Ensure system accurately measures needed telemetry locations
What you need to know:
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of industry experience
- Hands on experience with Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems including sensors and actuators
- Understanding of proper signal shielding and grounding for low noise systems
- This position will require occasional night shifts
Nice to haves but not required – if you do not meet all of these criteria, you should still apply:
- Design and operation of spacecraft and launch vehicle test stand infrastructure
- Integration of communication interfaces such as Ethernet, RS422, RS232, RS485, Modbus, CANbus, etc.
- Programming experience in C/C++, Python, Java or similar languages
