Q2 is seeking a Hosting Operations Engineer to help Q2 deliver industry-leading uptime and exceptional end-to-end banking and lending services to nearly 20 million users nationally. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with 4000+ VM servers in an Active Directory environment, ensuring that this environment has high availability
- Quickly restore system services based on your ability to diagnose problems, make critical decisions, investigate root cause and plan to mitigate future failures
- Proactively analyze client environments and collaborate across business and technology organizations to identify opportunities to improve performance and resiliency
- Participate in the development of high availability and Disaster Recovery application architecture for applications in coordination with application engineers
- Support upgrade and go-live activities related to new customer onboarding projects
- Identify/Implement automation opportunities to scale systems sustainably and minimize highly repetitive and error-prone tasks
- Modify, maintain and update software, performed through a practice of Change Management, Configuration Management and Release Management
- Remediate vulnerabilities identified through internal audits utilizing provided tools
- Leverage your diverse toolkit to identify and fix software bugs and misconfigurations
- Participate in rotating 24x7 “on call” support coverage for data center related issues
- Perform maintenance such as server patching and other related activities during scheduled weekend maintenance windows.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 3 – 5 years previous related experience
- Use professional concepts to solve a variety of problems
- Ability to work on problems of diverse scope, where analysis of situation requires a review of identifiable factors
- Must be able to exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action
- Must have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment
- Must work effectively within a team environment
- Advanced knowledge of Linux and Windows Systems Administration
- Moderate-to-Advanced Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
- Moderate-to-Advanced Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Internet Information Services and/or NGINX websites
Preferred Experience:
- VMWare VCP6 Certification
- Knowledge and troubleshooting experience of MS SQL Server 2008/2012 and MySQL databases
- Experience with Systems Administration in Public Cloud Datacenters such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Experience with Configuration and System Management tools in support of Linux systems
Desirable Skills:
- Obtain or utilize certifications as part of continuous professional growth
- Experience implementing secure and scalable hybrid cloud architectures
- Experience with DevOps workflows using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, and others
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
- Proficiency with Automation / Orchestration tools such as Ansible and HashiCorp Consul, Nomad, Vault, and Terraform or equivalent technologies
