Department OverviewMotorola’s Cybersecurity division is focused on providing strategic cybersecurity solutions to a variety of public and private customers operating in multiple domains. This position will work both independently as well as on a team to deliver cyber security assessments including risk assessments, cybersecurity training, incident response planning, cybersecurity exercises, and business continuity and disaster recovery activities for a variety of cloud and non-cloud systems.
Job Description
Information Security Consultant: Responsible for translating clients’ cybersecurity requirements and customizing and implementing security solutions into specific systems, applications and product designs. Identifies and develops the security solutions for clients using company products, outsourced technology solutions and technical tools. Consults with clients regarding secure product configuration, deployment, and security patches to minimize security vulnerabilities. Provides comprehensive scanning, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, monitoring services and source code analysis and delivers detailed results to clients. Guides and supports clients in the development and implementation of product security controls. Often project-based and involves working at customer sites. Performance is typically measured by the capture of the consulting engagement, utilization (i.e., billable hours) and/or delivery of agreed solutions within budgeted hours.
Your day to day responsibilities will include the following:
Planning and executing a variety of interview-based and technical assessments
Researching and training on new skills, applications, frameworks, and systems
Collaboration with other experts such as virtualization, network, firewall, EDR, and encryption experts.
Reporting progress to both internal and external customers
Documentation and report writing
General Skills:
Experience assessing organizations against standards and frameworks such as NIST 800-53r5, NIST CSF, CIS, ISO 27001, and RMF.
Experience providing cybersecurity solutions and advisement
A background in one or more of the following: incident response, programming, devops, access control or ID management, network security, vulnerability management, penetration testing, or compliance.
An understanding of data privacy standards and concepts; FIPS, GDPR, as well as other privacy, encryption and cyber security standards
A desire to learn, grow, and contribute.
Effective collaboration and team integration
Strong written and verbal communication skills
3+ years of active hands-on experience in performing one or more of the following: incident response, programming, dev ops, network security, vulnerability management, penetration testing, or compliance
An advanced certification such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or an equivalent.

Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and/or Military service
US Citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract
