This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA's family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.
This role is located onsite at our TIAA office in Charlotte, NC, USA but will currently be remote.
The anticipated term of this engagement will be 6 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.
CW-IT Applications Developer IV
Develops, implements and assesses specific new and emerging technologies, platforms, and services.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Assessing the technical viability of emerging products and technologies.
- Working with developers and infrastructure specialists to test and evaluate new technologies.
- Participating in the development of business cases and obtaining approvals for capital expenditures.
- Monitoring and analyzing new technology product performance and resolving issues regarding potential improvements or modifications to complex situations, as needed.

- Install and configure drivers on Windows Servers
- Manage the configuration and maintenance of replication strategies between Prod and DR
- Document technical recovery plans and incoming/outgoing process flows
- Assist with modeling structures in Data Warehouse and building procedures to load data
- Leverage SSIS to integrate external data sources that span relational databases, flat-files, and API's
- Monitor production jobs, execution logs, and alerts and troubleshoot any issues
- Assist with weekly code deployments and associated change management documentation
- Participate in daily stand-ups and weekly code reviews
Additional Requirements
- 5+ years SQL Server database administration and development experience
- Experience configuring Microsoft Windows Servers
- Familiar with all forms of SQL Server replication (mirroring, log shipping, etc)
- Experience optimizing databases and tuning performance of stored procedures and SQL queries
- Strong experience with stored procedures, views, user-defined functions, and triggers (T-SQL)
- Ability to develop and understand complex SQL queries
- Strong SSIS and ETL experience
- Knowledge of database design and data modeling in relational databases and data warehouses
- Familiar with code source control and workflow management tools like TFS, Bit Bucket, or JIRA
- Experience with BI Tools (Tableau a plus)
- Development experience in .NET C# a plus
- Development experience in Python a plus
- Development experience in AWS or Azure a plus
