Position Description

Curriculum Developer (Remote)

Serco is seeking a remote Full-Time Curriculum Developer for a federal Government customer. This position is in support of a proposal and contingent upon contract award.

You will be part of a large, geographically dispersed team that works closely with Serco senior leadership, the government customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality services to the military veteran programs.

The roles and responsibilities of the Curriculum Developer position include, but are not limited to supporting the program, team, and stakeholders on a routine basis by:

  • Leading the creation and revision of course curriculum according to agency guidance.
  • Leading the development of course outlines, course objectives, syllabi, lesson plans, classroom activities, course handouts, tests, student evaluations, and auxiliary materials, as needed.
  • Working with subject matter experts to identify and write performance-based training.
  • Recommending course delivery methods.
  • Conducting end-user needs assessment and performance assessment and analyzing results to determine learning needs and performance gaps.
  • Consulting with clients to identify new requirements and strategies.
  • Working with the instructional design team (instructional designers, graphic artists) and project and program manages to design responsive training and/or performance support solutions and schedules.



The Curriculum Developer works under the supervision of the Project Leader.

Must possess excellent writing skills and demonstrate the ability to coordinate and work effectively with subject matter experts. Must display organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks for themselves, while demonstrating the initiative to complete projects with minimum supervision.

TECHNICAL and CORE COMPETENCIES INCLUDE:

  • Experience and basic knowledge of policies and procedures when working on federal Government contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability with word-processing and presentation tools (e.g. Microsoft Word and PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of and experience with developing 508 compliant course material.
  • Experience developing WBTs with authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate.
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills, facilitation, interpersonal and client interaction skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven experience as a team player.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, or related discipline.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience designing and writing curriculum for adult learners on a variety of educational platforms.
  • Experience using computer-based training software and current e-learning authoring tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
