The Core eBook Reader development team is in search of a candidate to take on their Software Development Manager role.
The team is focused on building out components used by the wider company to deliver cutting-edge learning experiences. The position is in need of a candidate with a proven and focused track record on front end engineering technologies, mentor, grow, and guide developers of all backgrounds, tackle the most challenging web issues, and recommend extensible yet scalable solutions. This candidate will engage with an offshore team and ensure delivery of all development-related tasks in a coordinated fashion.
What You Will Do
- Manage several smaller front-end-only software development teams spanning Web, Android, and iOS
- Daily scrum with wider team to track development efforts across four sub teams
- Ability to debug challenging front end issues that require research of the latest web technologies
- Ability to help mentor junior developers come up with the best, most forward-thinking, scalable, backwards-compatible solutions through code reviews
- Coordinate with project management to plan releases
- Help with code design/architecture/refactoring
- Meet with internal product team to keep alignment, set expectation, and advise on technical direction
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- JavaScript Expertise, 5+ years of development in ReactJS or 10 years in experience with JavaScript.
- Expertise in HTML 5, CSS 3, Web Services, UI development, rapid development of proofs of concepts, and architectural design
- Excellent verbal and written communication (including demonstrated understanding of prose, syntax, communication best practices)
- Physically located in any EST region
Desirable:
- Native mobile development experience is a plus
As required by theColorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $83,300.00 - $171,500.00 and information on benefits offered is here.
