Coursera was launched in 2012 by two Stanford Computer Science professors, Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller, with a mission to provide universal access to world-class learning. It is now one of the largest online learning platforms in the world, with 92 million registered learners as of Sept. 30, 2021. Coursera partners with over 250 leading university and industry partners to offer a broad catalog of content and credentials, including Guided Projects, courses, Specializations, certificates, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Institutions around the world use Coursera to upskill and reskill their employees, citizens, and students in many high-demand fields, including data science, technology, and business. Coursera became a B Corp in February 2021.

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven, and entrepreneurial strategist to lead Coursera's Computer Science & Technology content strategy. This person should have extensive knowledge of the ecosystem of skills and technologies related to Computer Science and Software Engineering -- bonus for any background in physical engineering, IT, or Cloud as well. This person will use internal data and market research to identify catalog gaps as well as promising areas that we can forge.

While part of the role involves identifying these key areas of strategic investment, another meaty part of the job will involve consultation to our partnerships teams and to the companies and universities with which Coursera partners. Imagine a scope that will range from helping to identify specific topics in Computer Science & Tech, to reviewing proposed curricula, to creating multi-year content plans that cut across departments and content formats (e.g., Courses, Degrees).

This person will also work cross-functionally with teams such as Services, Marketing, and Product, to make sure tech content is created and positioned appropriately.

In short, you should: 1) have deep knowledge of Computer Science & Tech; 2) be very comfortable conducting research; 3) be able to use data to make and present on content recommendations; and 4) be passionate about education in technical fields.
