About the job
The Red Hat Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team is looking for a Compliance Engineer to join our Customer Experience and Enablement (CEE) team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work within the compliance team to support enterprise-level business controls and audit-related activities across EDA's data tools and platform. You'll work closely with the process and compliance manager and a cross-functional team within Red Hat. As a Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical implementation of business controls, ensuring that EDA's tools comply with enterprise security standards, conducting user access audits, and creating data sets and reports to be used by the process control teams and auditors. You should have a technical background and be up to date with the latest Accreditation Scheme for Conformity Assessment (ASCA) and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) regulation. You'll need solid analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
What you will do
- Ensure the company's technical compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Conduct audits and assessment of EDA's data tools and platform
- Create data sets to be used to generate reports to assist with compliance and tracking progress
- Be responsible for compliance testing and development
- Create architecture diagrams for compliance documentation
- Work with administration teams around compliance documentation and processes
- Institute best practice procedures for compliance and risk mitigation
- Develop strategies and implementation plans for compliance-related matters
- Explain and define compliance protocols and measures to stakeholders and relevant authorities
- Advise management on compliance-related matters
- Check the status of various business operations to ensure compliance with regulations
What you will bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
- 5+ years of experience working as a compliance engineer
- Software engineering background; experience with Python is a big plus
- Proficiency in report writing, analysis, and compliance procedures
- Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks
- Experience with cloud computing platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Solid technical knowledge and understanding of data and analytics systems and platforms
- Problem-solving skills
- Advanced SQL skills and knowledge of extract, transform, load (ETL) tools and data warehousing concepts
