About the role:

ConsenSys builds infrastructure and tools for developers -- who work for startups and established enterprises -- to deliver blockchain-based applications and systems.

As the Community Engineer, you will help create and grow the developer community and provide them with the content they need to succeed. You will work with the Protocol Engineering group at ConsenSys to highlight open-source software (like Hyperledger Besu, Teku, and GoQuorum) and research being developed for the Ethereum Ecosystem. You will engage with developers and create compelling and authentic resources such as demos, code samples, documentation, how-to guides, and blog posts. This will require a technical understanding of ConsenSys and Ethereum software.

Responsibilities:

• Build awareness and motivate developers to build blockchain applications using ConsenSys software and Ethereum

• Identify high potential developer communities, refine messaging to attract new developers, and highlight gaps in developer experience for our product teams

• Build a deep knowledge of the company's technology/products/services so as to articulate how they enable developers

• Be hands-on. Create and maintain resources for developers such as demos, code samples, documentation, how-to guides, and tutorials

• Be technical. Write technical, detailed tutorials and blogs above and beyond the software documentation to provide a straightforward and seamless experience for developers.

• Participate in the blockchain ecosystem and community, building strong relationships with engineers, architects, product managers, and founders, inside and outside of ConsenSys

• Define and own metrics to measure the success of our developer content and outreach efforts

Skillset:

• 3-5+ years of experience in a developer role (bonus points for developer education and technical writing)

• 1-2+ years in developer engagement, relations, and education

• You have a working knowledge of developer tools like SDKs and APIs

• You have DevOps skills and can create and support toolchains for new devs, and creation of easy-to-use tools to support new and experienced developers

• Experience in writing code samples, demos, or tutorials for one or both of JavaScript and Java

• Experience of working within cross-functional teams (developer relations, product, marketing, support, etc.)

• Scrappy & has a mindset that done is better than perfect, many community projects are early and will have shifts in direction
