Job Description

Brightspeed is looking for a high initiative, critical thinker to design, build, and operate a greenfield CMDB solution. As CMDB Engineer, you will consult leadership on CMDB strategy to expand the team as necessary support continuous business transformation. This role will require experience with ServiceNow and ITSM processes. As CMDB Engineer, you will evaluate decision and information needs across the IT landscape to classify and relate data to deliver business value. You will develop governance and procedures to ensure data accuracy and completeness. You will ensure accurate inventory and relationship of CIs in a multi-cloud environment and map them to business services with a high degree of accuracy.

As CMDB Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilize ServiceNow to discover, update, and relate configuration assets
  • Utilize ServiceNow to build a complete, accurate, and comprehensive asset inventory in a multi-cloud environment
  • Work with leadership to understand decision and information needs to classify assets and assign attributes
  • Implement solution for automated discovery and update of assets
  • Incorporate data from federated systems and data feeds to improve
  • Map non-discoverable assets such as business services to discoverable assets
  • Develop a configuration management plan and governance to promote accuracy and completeness of data
  • Brief leadership on CMDB completeness, compliance, and correctness
  • Develop a CMDB road map to support ITSM transformation
  • Work with change, asset, incident, and problem management teams to support CI data needs

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems and 10+ years' experience in IT or14+ years' relative IT experience
  • 5+ years of configuration management or database design experience
  • 2+ years of ServiceNow experience
  • ITIL foundation certification
  • Cloud experience

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Google or Azure cloud certifications
  • Enterprise system design experience
  • Experience designing for data ingest
  • Have configured CMS for paging
