Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented Software Development Manager with DevOps and Software Engineering experience to join us. This area of Engineering is responsible for the technical design, service implementation and support of one of the world's largest and most interconnected set of data centers. The successful candidate will work as a Software Development Manager as part of the IBM Cloud Network team with a focus on the following key responsibilities:
• Provide functional direction to a team of talented software engineers and provide technical leadership and guidance.• Work closely with the team to ensure impediments are removed and commitments are met with high quality while allowing engineers to creatively complete tasks without undue interference.• Cultivate a culture of teamwork, diversity, respect, and growth within managed team.• Collaborate with product management and other solution teams to get feedback with prioritized feature requests.• Collaborate and effectively communicate with high profile customers.• Monitor pager duty alerts, debug and drive solutions to reduce them.• Collaborate with dependent teams to negotiate and interlocked feature delivery dates.• Scope the effort and assign resources for projects and features.• Track project milestones and dependent team deliverables for the timely release of features.• Work within a continuous Integration and continuous delivery development model and foster culture of continuous improvement.• Work closely with the execs and other development managers

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline;
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Software Development or Software Engineering;
• Minimum of 4 years' management experience;
• Minimum of 2 years' experience with Agile/DevOps Development practices;
• Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written);
• Previous Project Management Experience
• Good organizational skills; and the ability to multi-task.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline;
• Cloud Development experience with focus on networking;
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of networking;
• Knowledge of all layers of the OSI model, most importantly the network (layer 3) and application (layer 7);
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in Software Development or Software Engineering; including 5 years technical team lead experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with Agile/DevOps Development practices;
• Previous 3 years project management experience or PMP certified.
