We are seeking an innovative and passionate individual who can provide significant contributions in the design, coding, testing, support and debugging of software and enhancements to existing software specifically focused on AWS Cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in the public cloud, particularly AWS, with hands-on development experience using the AWS SDKs in any language. We are building cutting-edge tools and frameworks that allow our partner business application teams to focus on their core competencies, instead of sweating the details the details of building in the cloud. The Work Itself

• Design and implement scalable solutions from available cloud services and tooling to achieve specific business objectives
• Implement solutions that anticipate and react to changes in Ally's public cloud environment and that make complying with security rules easy for other teams
• Work with others on the team, taking initiative and direction to ensure the consolidation and refinement of our data architecture and help maintain the cloud team's audit-ready posture
• Partners with cloud engineers, information security, core infrastructure teams and application developers to enable agility through best-in-class automation that validates controls for security, compliance, and audit
• Champion a collaborative development approach in tune with our Agile methodology that encourages and accepts cross-team contributions and emphasizes transparency
• Assist with the architecture and implementation of infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code objectives

The Skills You Bring

• 1+ years of experience with cloud engineering and development. Bonus: architecting solutions that help foster an understanding of the current state of AWS Organizations or individual accounts.
• Experience with technical implementations in the public cloud
• Experience connecting to APIs through programming languages to automate data collection including gathering and merging data from separate APIs to help build enriched data collections
• A passion for technology and will push for constant improvement. The best learning opportunities can come from evaluating mistakes!
• Experience with Python or another similar scripting language
• A background in data structures, data gathering, and data enrichment
• Experienced with databases (NoSQL or relational) and other ways to store data (S3, etc); able to construct a cohesive and scalable data architecture
• Experience with testing your code and automating those tests

It's not expected that any single candidate would fulfil all of these characteristics. For instance, we have wonderful team members who are really focused on their customers' needs and building incredible data models, but didn't work on banking products before joining Ally.
