The Koch Cloud Platform team is responsible to the Koch enterprise for delivering secure cloud accounts, creating and sharing best practices, and providing excellent support for our services. We have the exciting opportunity to hire a Cloud Engineer to join our highly skilled platform team.

We are looking for an experienced individual who will help innovate our platform service delivery and partner with our customers to drive valuable business outcomes. An ideal candidate will be someone with a passion for improving processes and driving transformation, a team-oriented mindset, experienced in AWS Cloud and Infrastructure as Code practices. In this role, you will develop and support the overall cloud platform, work cross-functionally across KGS to deliver our platform service, and partner closely with business to drive cloud standards, consult and support business outcomes.

This role is open to being worked from Wichita, KS; Atlanta, GA; Detroit, MI; Chicago, IL; or Green Bay, Wisconsin
What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Responsible for designing and implementing enterprise infrastructure and platforms required for cloud computing
  • Design, build, and maintain a stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across environments throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Utilize a consistent DevSecOps approach to improve all phases of the process and ensure end-to-end quality across functions
  • Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, monitoring
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes
  • Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure Troubleshooting techniques and fixing the code bugs
  • Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
  • Incidence management and root cause analysis
  • Consulting on a new valued project and framing up the desired technical outcome.
  • Driving ownership and accountability for platform improvements (automations, cost-optimization, self-service enablement, health reporting, etc).


The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience with the AWS Cloud Platform, Azure or GCP
  • Experience using git-based source control management platforms (GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as (AWS CloudFormation, AWS SAM, AWS CDK, Terraform).
  • Experience coding with Python, NodeJS, JavaScript, HTML/CSS or equivalent languages.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex cloud issues
  • Ability to explain complicated cloud concepts to laypeople, to coach and educate cloud principles and standards.
  • Experience working in DevSecOps and Agile frameworks
  • Well-rounded experience and application with technical documentation


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science or an industry equivalent experience
  • Applied knowledge in system development in cloud environments, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
  • Experience with network infrastructure, database, cloud and data center operations, and security protocols.
  • Experience with Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS)
  • Experience with Serverless Compute technologies
  • Experience with CloudKnox, DivvyCloud, Turbot, or other platform management tools
